About
Don Murray is a practicing lawyer based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. During the first 40 years of his practice he primarily provided defence services for criminal and regulatory offence matters. Since the mid-1990s he has also been sought out as a neutral decision-maker for workplace arbitrations, professional discipline, and human rights claims.
Don Murray has closed the intake of new criminal and regulatory files to his practice so that he can better provide services as an adjudication neutral in a timely way.
Mr Murray is on the roster of Arbitrators maintained by the Nova Scotia Ministry of Labour under the Nova Scotia Trade Union Act, and an adjudicator under the Nova Scotia Human Rights Act. For several years Mr Murray was a member, and then Chair, of the Professional Responsibility Hearing Committee under the Nova Scotia Legal Profession Act. For 8 years he served as an adjudicator under the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement.
