One of Mr Murray’s particular interests over his thirty five years in practice has been the human cost of lawyering upon lawyers themselves. In addition to his work with the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society’s Lawyers Assistance Program beginning in the 1990s, the national Lawyers’ Assistance Program, and related work in the professional responsibility context, Mr Murray has conducted original research and presented lectures on aspects of vicarious trauma and professional self-care with particular focus on the practice of criminal law in Canada.
Two of Mr Murray’s most shared papers are available here. Mr Murray encourages their use by practitioners, therapists, and academics for whatever benefits might be drawn from them. If the user intends to use either paper as a stepping stone in further research, citation to this website is expected.
